This cemetery
is located to the lower right of El Morro. Many important people for Puerto
Rico were buried here. Some of the most important ones were: Pedro Albizu
Campos(attorney and politician), Alejandro Tapia y Rivera(poet), José Julian
Acosta(journalist and an advocate of the abolition of slavery), José Gautier
Benítez(poet), and José de Diego(journalist, statesman, poet, lawyer, and an
advocate for Puerto Rico’s independence).
